Most of the areas of law that I practice involve actual or potential litigation, but that's not always the case. Sometimes people just want to know things like:

• who's legally right and who's legally wrong in a conflict
  
• whether they can legally do something or not (ie. Is that legal?)
  
• how to best get a potential legal benefit
  
• how to best avoid a potential legal liability, or
  
• otherwise how to handle a sticky situation.
