What Do These Topics Offer You?

The below-listed topical links offer current (at least the last 3 years, and likely more) Ontario and Canadian appellate case extracts on every of the 200+ legal topics (including sub-topics) listed in the left sidebar. Courts extracted (usually) daily are the SCC, the Fed CA, Ont CA and the Ont Div Ct. When I have the time (which I often don't - hint, hint for volunteers) I also list applicable statute, regulations, tribunal rules and more within the same taxonomy (eg. employment case extracts will be linked next to Canlii links to the associated ESA sections).

For the reader, reviewing the (usually several) topical case extracts and other content in any discrete area of law offers the possibility of providing you with an in-depth and current understanding of judicial treatment of that area of law. Sometime it's not as concise as a hard-bound legal textbook (though they are often dated), but if you are willing to do the work of reviewing the extracts it can be a superior method of legal research and education. I tell people that this method is not like being served a plate of food, it more like eating at a buffet - you still have to do some of the work yourself. But many readers find it to more 'satisfying' for the purpose of attaining concise and current legal knowledge as it is 'straight from the horse's mouth', and you can't beat that degree of freshness nor accuracy.
