In R. v. Gollon (Ont CA, 2023) the Court of Appeal considered the purpose of the FWCA:
[13] ... The purpose of the FWCA and its regulations is to provide a scheme of wildlife conservation and management, including the establishment of ethical, humane, and responsible hunting practices, sustaining healthy populations of wildlife for future generations, regulating the commercialization of wildlife, and encouraging public safety: Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters v.
