COMMENT

Despite it's simplicity, I find barter (aka 'contra sales') fascinating. They amount to a sale of goods and/or services where there is no money involved - essentially a 'trade' of goods (aka 'chattel property') and/or services by both sides. Modern forms of government, relying so heavily on sales and income taxation for support, can't help but resent barter (resorting to money valuations of the items traded), but it is still of course legal - despite it's logistical inadequacies compared to money (inadequacies which originally led to the creation of money, for better and worse).
